This Heart-Shaped Mulch Bed Is One of Our Favorites

Most mulch beds look the same - a basic oval around a tree, maybe a rectangle along a fence line. Nothing wrong with that. But every now and then, a customer wants something that actually means something to them. That's exactly what happened with this one.

We originally designed this heart-shaped mulch bed a few years back. The shape wraps around the tree in the yard, and the natural stones placed inside the bed give it some added character. It's one of those designs that stops people in their tracks when they see it for the first time. Unique, intentional, and totally custom.

We came back to refresh it recently - new clean edging to redefine that distinctive heart shape, and a fresh layer of dark mulch to bring the whole thing back to life. It's amazing what a mulch refresh can do. The color deepens, the edges look crisp, and the bed looks like it was just installed.
