Even a well-designed landscape needs a little upkeep to stay looking its best. That's exactly what this refresh was about. We came back to a landscape we installed last season and topped everything off with fresh black mulch and a clean river rock border - and the difference it makes is immediately noticeable.
Here's the thing most people don't think about after an install: the plants grow, the mulch breaks down, and without a little annual attention the beds start to look tired. It doesn't take a full redesign to fix that. A fresh layer of mulch, some crisp edge work, and the right ground cover goes a long way.
The river rock border running along the bed perimeter does two things - it keeps the mulch contained and creates a clean visual separation between the lawn and the planting beds. Low-maintenance and sharp looking. That combo is hard to beat for everyday curb appeal.
We work this way on purpose. When we do a landscape installation, we design it with long-term upkeep in mind. That means choosing materials and plants that age well and are easy to freshen up season after season without a ton of cost or hassle. This refresh is a good example of how that approach pays off.
Clean beds, defined edges, healthy plants - that's what keeps a home looking well cared for year after year. Whether we installed your landscape or not, this kind of seasonal maintenance is something we do regularly for homeowners who want their property looking sharp without having to think about it themselves.
