Sometimes it's not a full landscape overhaul that makes the biggest difference - it's the details. A fresh layer of mulch in the right color, paired with new plantings laid out with some intention, can take a home from looking tired to looking sharp. That's exactly what happened here.

The beds around this home were cleaned out and prepped before anything went in. What was left behind was bare, dark soil and overgrown remnants of what used to be there. Not a great look, but a solid starting point. Once the beds were ready, we got to work with new plant material and rich, dark-colored mulch throughout.

The color choice on the mulch did a lot of heavy lifting here. Against the gray siding and stone foundation of this home, the deep reddish-brown tone really pops. The plants we installed - a mix of ferns, hostas, and low evergreen shrubs - give the beds structure without overwhelming the space. Everything has room to grow and fill in naturally.

It's easy to overlook what mulch actually does beyond aesthetics. It holds moisture, suppresses weeds, and protects roots - especially during weather swings in spring. So while it looks great, it's also doing real work for the health of the plants underneath it. That's the kind of update that pays off all season long.

We handled the full landscape installation here - from plant selection to final mulch application across multiple bed areas. When beds are this spread out across a property, consistency in color and depth matters. Everything ties together, and the finished result feels intentional rather than piecemeal.
