Here's a project that had a little bit of everything - a cracked, worn-out concrete patio in the back, overgrown shrubs taking over the front entrance, and a drainage issue hiding underneath it all. The homeowner wanted a clean, usable outdoor space. We got to work and tackled all of it.

Out back, we pulled up the old broken concrete and started fresh. We installed a new patio using Oberfields Lexington pavers in the Flagstone color - a mix of cool grays and warm tans that gives the surface that classic, timeless look without feeling overdone. We also added a small Oberfields Versa-Lok retaining wall along the edge to clean up the grade transition. While we were at it, we replaced the downspout running beneath the patio. That's the kind of thing that gets overlooked, but it matters - a buried downspout that fails means water sitting right where you don't want it.

Out front, the beds had gotten away from the homeowner over time. Overgrown plants were crowding the entryway and the whole area just felt heavy and cluttered. We cleared everything out, brought the bed back to a manageable size, and finished it off with fresh dark mulch. The before and after on that front bed is pretty striking - you can actually see the house again.

What we like about a project like this is that it's not just one thing. It's paver patio work, retaining wall work, drainage, and landscape design all rolled into one visit. When everything gets done together, it reads as intentional. The front and back both feel like they belong to the same property now.

Details like downspout replacement and proper wall edging might not be the flashiest part of a landscape job - but they're what keeps everything looking good long after we leave. That's the approach we bring to every project.
